2011-11-08 (China Military News cited from People’s Daily Online) — Nearly 10 technical experts from the Third Engineer Scientific Research Institute of the General Staff (TESRIGS) brought research and development results to the practice field of the army in late October to provide technical services and test their scientific achievements on the battlefield.
In the past five years, they have brought 100 scientific results to the drill ground, greatly boosting combat effectiveness.
Using active and passive defense technology, information technology and civil engineering technology, TESRIGS has developed an integrated defense system with photoelectrical countermeasures and electromagnetic shielding technology and established a system to protect command posts in the event of information warfare.
They carried out many explosion tests in order to break the key firepower damage technology of a certain type of ammo and put forward a new evaluation method for firepower application and damage in the battlefield.
Recently, TESRIGS has established more than 20 large-scale laboratories, from which more than 100 sets of test equipment have been developed. Most of these test equipments and testing methods are exclusively owned by China.
