December.18 (China Military News cited from chinamil.com) — Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, met with the young officer representatives attending the first China-Vietnam young officer exchange activity in Beijing on the morning of December 17.

Ma Xiaotian congratulated on the success of the first China-Vietnam young officer exchange activity. He said that the future and prospect of the China-Vietnam friendly relations rested with the youth and the inheriting and development of the friendly cooperative ties between China and Vietnam also depended on the younger generation in the militaries of the two countries. He hoped the young people in the militaries of the two countries to learn from each other, promote each other, make contributions to the construction of their respective countries and militaries with their talent and wisdom and continue to write the chapter of the China-Vietnam friendly relations in the new century.
Fan Wensheng, head of the Vietnamese young officer delegation and deputy head of the Asian Division of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam, said that the Vietnamese young officers had a better understanding of China and the Chinese military and further recognized the significance of developing Vietnam-China friendly ties through participating in the colorful young officer exchange activity. The Vietnamese side is willing to further carry out Vietnam-China young officer exchange and make contributions to the development of the relations between the two countries and the two militaries.
