Beijing, Sept.17 (China Defense Mashup Report by Johnathan Weng) — The F-22P is an improved version of the Chinese Type 053H3 frigate currently on order by the Pakistan Navy (PN). The first ship is expected to be delivered to the PN in 2008 with the remainder by 2013. Four F-22P frigates have been ordered by the Pakistan Navy in total, with the first three being built by China, and the last being built in Pakistan by Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KSEW).
The F-22P Class frigate is armed with 8 C-802 surface-to-surface and 8 HHQ-7 (improved ) surface-to-air missiles. However the F-22P uses the Russian AK-176M 76.2mm as its main gun, instead of the Chinese 100mm counterpart. Physically, the F-22P has a stealthier platform as it uses a lot of the Type 054 frigate’s Radar Cross Sectional (RCS) reduction concepts. In 2008, first F-22P frigate (the one on the image) will be transferred to Pakistan Navy. These photos are taken from the shipyard of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd in Shanghai.

Looks very much like the Euro Frigates of the 80’s & 90’s, especially with that upward sloping Fo’c’sle (Just like the German Frigates)…

@waleed khan, in today’s era one doesn’t need to frighten others, one has rather to rely on own capabilities for defense of motherland. Having said that in my opinion this seems to be an excellent ship, and hopefully should be able to serve Pakistan Navy in its endeavors of defending her maritime boundaries. i am very very happy to listen this news about navy ship f 22 p .that chain and pakistan have maked this chip. it is good ship in this wold. it is my wish china should more and more make ship like this .and should fighter plane new design . and i want look to china and pakistan frist in this wold high power. one day pakistan will become china and china will becom pakistan. this is good and deepset frind ship between china and pakistan.
but use america and india. not happy to look like this progress of china and pakistan.one day china and pakistan ecnomic will be one in this wold. and in high level. china and pakistan will protection his defence together if any country will try hit to china or pakistan.
