Second phase of AMAN 09 military exercises begins

KARACHI, (China Military News cited from Daily Times) -- The second phase of pakistan Navy’s multinational Naval Peace exercise ‘Aman (Peace) 09’ began in the Arabian Sea off Karachi Port from Monday.

From March 9 to 12, twenty warships from twelve countries will carry out exercises that include going past mines, anti-terror operations, shooting floating objects, search and rescue, night encounter exercises and cross deck landings by helicopters.

This is the second exercise in the Aman series and has the slogan, ‘Together for Peace’. The first series of Aman exercises were held in March 2007 with the participation of 14 naval ships from China, France, United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Malaysia and Bangladesh.
