Beidou-II Navigation Star to be Launched in next two weeks

Beijing, Mar.06 (China Defense Mashup Report by Johnathan Weng) -- China is going to Launch its first second generation Navigation satellite, Beidou-II (Compass-II), in Xichang Launch Center. The date will possible be March 19th. Here are some photos of the Beidou-II first satellite's land transferring from CAST (Chinese Academy of space Technology) in Beijing, on Feb.15, 2009.

In future, the whole Beidou (Compass) constellation will consist of 30 stars, including 27 MEO satellites (9 stars for each orbit plane) and 3 GSO satellites. Beidou-II is developed from the DFH-3 platform.

The most quirky thing is that the signal conflict between Beidou-II and Europe's Galileo system. The image can explain it clearly.
