Beijing, Feb 02 (China Defense Mashup Report by Johnathan Weng) -- one of PLA's offical paper medias, PLA Picture, rarely published a photo of an ICBM missile, which is being in test. The image note syas that the missile is DF-31A ICBM.  It is interesting that the nose of DF-31A has a small disk-shape device whose function isstill unknown. And this feature also proves the designation name of mystery launching ICBM in continuous shooting photos is also DF-31A.  In 1999, the missile was first displayed publicly at the National Day parade[2]. On August 2, 1999, the Chinese state news media reported the successful test of the DF-31. Western countries estimated that the upgraded missile, DF-31A, has a reported range of 11,200+ km. And In early 2008 the US Defense Department reported to Congress that under 10 DF-31A missiles had been deployed. This image is the clearest photo of DF-31A, which never seen before!
